greenseth.com fall 2011 update log
Hello, friends! One of my original intentions for this blog was to use it sporadically as a means of keeping an update log for my main site, greenseth.com. The update logs may not be terribly interesting for others to read, but it helps me keep myself organized.
Let’s leap right into this, then:
Complete visual overhaul of the greenseth.com!
- Old left-hand sidebar - I felt like it was needlessly distracting, so I moved the information in the sidebar up into the header and then got rid of it.
- Navigation/Tabs - Navigation on the old site wasn’t terrible, but it was needlessly bloated. The tabs are slimmer, and a little piece of pixel art will now show above the banner based on which area of the site you’re on. The tabs appear to stack now, too.
- Colors - The black, white, and red color scheme of the old site was bold and eye-catching in a way that detracted from the actual material being showcased. I re-worked everything into a much friendlier, calmer gray and yellow-orange, which have the added benefit of being my favorite colors.
- ML2 - The ML2 now appears in the top right corner of all pages to promote my blog and to take you home.
New features!
- Shoes! - My custom shoes are a hot item, so they now have their own tab for easy accessibility.
- Comics page - The comics page is a lot more user-friendly now and promotes all of the books I’ve been published in, among other things.
- Characters - My recurring characters from War for Arcadia have made a special appearance at the bottom of the comics page!
